School Van Driver Killed in Accident

A 42-year-old Walnutport woman was killed after a school van she was driving crashed head on with an RV on Tuesday, according to the Lehigh Valley Times.

The fatal crash occurred at 3:32 pm in Upper Nazareth Township. Northampton County Coroner, Zachary Lysek pronounced Kelly Quier, the van driver, dead at the scene.

According to police and witnesses, the van was heading west on Newburg Road when it hopped the center divide and slammed into an RV head on. Lysek also confirmed that a female student attending North Hampton Area Middle School was hospitalized.

Authorities are attempting to re-create the crash scene Wednesday in order to determine the cause of the accident.
