The officers currently have the home surrounded and are evacuating nearby residents out of their homes.

A man is in police custody after a barricade situation in Voorhees, New Jersey.

Police were called to a home on Burnham Lane Sunday at 11 a.m. The caller told police that a man who had a restraining order against him was inside the house. When police arrived, they say they found the homeowners, Indira and Hiren Gala running out of the house.

Police say the couple's son, who they have a restraining order against, was inside the home but refused to leave. Neighbors on the block were evacuated and the SWAT team was called to the scene.

Police say the son, who was not armed, surrendered to police around 4:30 p.m. Police have not yet revealed his name or the specific charges against him. One neighbor told NBC10's Monique Braxton that issues between the son and his parents began a few years ago when he didn't take a medical school exam after completing his course work.

Police have not yet revealed the specific charges against the man.
