Philadelphia police shot and killed a man who tried to intervene in a domestic disturbance involving his sister, authorities told NBC Philadelphia.

Officials say 39-year-old Eric Crawley, who has worked as a SEPTA bus driver since 2008, drove to the scene of a domestic dispute in Mount Airy with a gun in his waistband on Friday morning, reports the Inquirer.

Crawley allegedly failed to comply with an officer's order to put his hands on the car after getting out of his vehicle.

Crawley then allegedly drew his weapon and an officer shot him in the chest, reports the Inquirer. He died at a hospital.

    No officers were injured.

Internal affairs and homicide detectives are investigating the shooting. The name of the officer who fired the fatal shot was not immediately released.
