Delaware Man Gets Into Car Full of Children, Threatens Mom With Knife: Police

Three children in the backseat didnโ€™t stop a man from getting into a Pennsylvania motherโ€™s car and threatening her with a knife during an attempted robbery at a Delaware shopping center, said Delaware State Police.

On Saturday, police identified a suspect in the attempted theft outside of Valley Liquors at Limestone Road Pike Creek Shopping Center in Pike Creek Thursday afternoon at Phillip Pepe of Wilmington.

Investigators said the 25-year-old entered the unlocked passenger side of the 26-year-old womanโ€™s car and displayed a knife as her three children watched from the backseat. Luckily the woman and her children werenโ€™t hurt.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Pepe on charges including attempted robbery, weapons counts and child endangerment. They asked anyone with information to contact Detective D. Grassi at 302-365-8441, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-333 or by submitting a tip online.
