Philly Police S.W.A.T. Member Breaks Ground

The Steve Harvey Show honors S.W.A.T. member J'Nean Caserta

J'Nean Caserta is breaking ground. The Philadelphia mother and grandmother is a breast cancer survivor and a proud member of the Philadelphia Police Department. She's served the citizens of Philadelphia for the last 13 years.

Recently, she became a member of police department's elite S.W.A.T. team. Caserta is the first African American woman to become a member of the team.

“This is the best decision that I have made in my entire career and it’s an honor for me to serve on the Philadelphia Police Department S.W.A.T. team,” J’Nean said.

In the 50 year history of S.W.A.T., only three woman have been members. The S.W.A.T. team is just 1 percent of the entire Philadelphia Police force.

"The Steve Harvey Show" will recognize Caserta on the show today as a "Female Ground Breaker." The show airs at 2 p.m. on NBC10.

J’Nean shows Steve “Rescue Randy,” a 200-lb dummy, used to help S.W.A.T. members train for the task of rescuing a fellow officer in need of help.
