Person Killed, 6 Firefighters Hurt During House Fire

Officials are investigating the cause of a fire that killed one person and sent six firefighters to the hospital.

The fire broke out at a 4-bedroom home at the intersection of South Main Street and Magnolia Avenue in Toms River, New Jersey.

Officials say one person inside the home was killed. That person has not yet been identified.

Officials also say six responding firefighters were injured due to a flashover during the fire. The firefighters suffered burns and smoke inhalation.

Investigators have not yet revealed the conditions of the injured firefighters.

The fire was placed under control. Officials are still investigating the cause.
