Democratic National Committee Chairman Ed Rendell's tough talking ways were on full display at a banquet last week when the former Pennsylvania governor reportedly dropped the news that the Vanguard Group has not made a donation to help cover the city's hosting duties for the upcoming Democratic National Convention.
Last month, Rendell said the host committee was $10 million short of its fundraising goal– and that even included accounting for expected donations.
As the shortfall hangs over the committee, Rendell has declined to name companies and organizations which already ponied up money for the DNC. Yet, as Philly.com reported, he apparently has no qualms pointing out which firms have yet to open up their checkbooks.
