Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on NJ Turnpike

State police say a motorcyclist has been killed after being ejected from his bike on the New Jersey Turnpike near Newark.

The man died around 6 p.m. Sunday. His name has been withheld pending notification of his family,

State police spokesman Sgt. Adam Grossman tells The Star-Ledger of Newark that the motorcyclist was riding from the turnpike onto the Newark Bay extension, part of route 78, when he was thrown from the bike.

He fell onto some train tracks beneath the highway and died a short time later.
