Man Shoots Boyfriend of Ex-Wife: Police

A man is in police custody after investigators say he shot the current boyfriend of his ex-wife.

Investigators say Michael Adams, 26, drove outside the home of his ex-wife on White Avenue in Lower Chichester on Monday. Witnesses told police Adams exited his car, pulled out a gun and tried to shoot his ex-wife who was standing outside. Police say the womanโ€™s current boyfriend, 28-year-old Justin Taylor of Delaware, tried to intervene. Adams allegedly opened fire and shot Taylor several times at close range.

Police say several witnesses managed to disarm Adams and detain him until officers arrived. He was arrested at the scene and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and other related offenses. He is currently being held at the Upper Chichester Police Complex and is scheduled for an arraignment on Tuesday.

Taylor was taken to the Crozer Chester Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery. Police say the surgery was successful and that Taylorโ€™s prognosis is โ€œgood.โ€
