Police say a man shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself in Prospect Park Sunday.
Police were called to a home on the 1300 block of Fletcher Avenue in Delaware County around 3:50 p.m.for a report of a shooting. Investigators say they found a 31-year-old woman suffering from two gunshot wounds to the face and chest. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a witness, a man left the home shortly after the gunfire and drove away in a white van. About two hours later, police say they located a white van on the 8600 block of Mario Lanza Boulevard in Southwest Philadelphia. Investigators found the body of 38-year-old Anthony Serody inside the van with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman’s identity has not been released at this time.
Police say the couple has 6-year-old daughter. No word yet whether she was inside the home during the shooting.
Police are investigating the incident.
