Man Found Dead Near Berks County Road Was Shot: Police

Police say a man whose body was found along an eastern Pennsylvania road was shot to death.

Authorities in Berks County also said Thursday they think they know the man's identity but aren't publicly naming him until relatives are found.

The man's body was spotted by a driver early Wednesday in weeds alongside an off-ramp from the westbound lane of Route 12 in Reading.

Reading police Capt. Damond Kloc says the investigation has been hampered by a lack of information, including where the man was killed. Investigators say there's no evidence that the victim was shot where the body was found.

The county coroner says an autopsy performed Thursday determined the man died of gunshots wounds to the head and neck.
