One man is dead after falling into the Schuylkill River.
It happened on Saturday near the Chestnut Street Bridge around 6:30 p.m.
Police say a 40-year-old man was found inside the river by the marine unit.
He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead at 7:19 p.m.
Police are currently investigating whether the man fell in the water accidentally or if he jumped in.
No word yet on the man’s identity.
