Neighborhood Flocks to Backyard Luge Track

One Chester County family takes sledding to another level.

Frank Evans of Landenberg, Pa. has been making luge tracks in his backyard for years -- but what first started out as a fun family activity has turned into the talk of the neighborhood.

For more than 15 years, Evans has been packing the snow into icy courses for both kids and adults to enjoy. For the last decade there hasn't been enough snow for the family to make a successful track -- but that all changed last year.

The past two winters have been full of icy snow, the perfect recipe for a slippery ride that can propel riders up to 30 m.p.h.

The recent frigid night temperatures turned the course into solid ice making it an even faster experience, but the upcoming forecast may signal an end for the neighborhood luge track.

Evans says the track is melting every day, but you can bet the Landenberg Luge will be back next winter.
