    Fire Damages Northeast Philadelphia Businesses

    Investigators are working to determine what caused a fire that damaged businesses on Cottman Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia overnight. (Published Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015)

    Firefighters quickly brought a fire at a building in Philadelphia's Holmesburg section under control on Sunday morning, but not before the flames damaged at least two businesses.

    Crews were called to the one-story building on Cottman Avenue near I-95 about 4:15 a.m. They had the fire under control by 4:42 a.m., authorities said.

    Inside the damaged building are Elite Roofing & Contracting and Dove Aluminum Products.

    Authorities were investigating what sparked the blaze on Sunday. No injuries were reported.
