Fire, Fatality at Old City Hotel

A hotel fire may have claimed the life of an elderly man in Old City.

Philadelphia emergency personnel responded to a call of a fire at the Omni Hotel at 401 Chestnut Street in Old City at 10:18 a.m. They were able to suppress the fire by 10:36 a.m.

Yet the brief blaze may have contributed to the death of an elderly man, who was found dead.

The cause of his death has not been named yet. His identity has not been released.

The investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
