Drivers Exchange Gunfire Along South Philly Street, Man Hospitalized

Two drivers opened fire on each other along a South Philadelphia street Thursday evening, just a block away from a police station, police said. The shooting sent one man to the emergency room.

The shootout took place around 4:30 p.m. at 25th and Wolf Streets, police said. Both drivers fled the scene and one was hit by the bullets.

Police caught up to him in University City at 38th Street and Baltimore Avenue, police said. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. His condition is unknown.

The second driver remains at large. The motive remains unclear.
