A Montgomery County father allegedly drove drunk while he had his three young children unsecured in the car with him, according to authorities.
Police say 44-year-old Richard John Carickhoff, of Michael Way in Lansdale, is facing 11 charges after someone spotted him driving erratically around 5 p.m. last Thursday and called authorities.
His three children, ages 3 to 8, were found in the red Audi uninjured, but none of them were in car seats, as stated by The Reporter.
Carickhoff was charged with DUI, three counts each of endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person, three charges in connection with having no car seats or child restraint systems in the car and careless driving, court records show.
A family member posted Carickhoff’s $1,000 bail Monday, according to public documents.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 31.
