A woman woke to a smoke alarm in a Cheltenham home early Friday morning as a fire tore through the Montgomery County house.
Firefighters rushed to battle the blaze in a house on the 1400 block of Wistar Drive, near Thornberry Drive, around 4:30 a.m., officials said.
A tearful homeowner, whose cousin heard the alarm, watched from the suburban tree-lined street as crews worked to extinguish the blaze.
Everyone insdide the home-- located behind the Cheltenham Mall on Route 309 -- was able to escape safely.
The fire was placed under control by 5:45 a.m.
There were no reported injuries.
