A crash on Route 322 in New Jersey claimed the life of a pedestrian early Thursday morning.
A vehicle struck the victim who was walking on Route 322 near English Creek Avenue in Egg Harbor Township around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
Rescuers rushed the victim to a local hospital, where the person died.
There is no word yet on the cause of the crash, although police have said this was not a hit-and-run crash.
Authorites closed Route 322 at English Creek Avenue for several hours as they investigated. The road was reopened by 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
The investigation continues.
