Manager at Philadelphia Checkers Accused of Throwing Hot Cooking Oil on Women at Drive-Thru

Police arrested a manager at a Philadelphia Checkers restaurant accused of throwing hot cooking oil on three women who were at the drive-thru.

Latifah Linder, 28, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and other related offenses.

The incident occurred Saturday at 3:07 a.m. at the Checkers on 5800 Baltimore Ave. Linder was working at the drive-thru when she began arguing with three women who were inside a Chevy Impala, police said. Linder then allegedly threw hot cooking oil on the women.

A 20-year-old woman was burned on her left arm and left leg. She was taken to Mercy Hospital in stable condition.

Another 20-year-old woman and a 26-year-old women both suffered burns to their left arms, legs and head. They both refused medical attention.

β€œThe franchisee is taking this incident very seriously, and the manager involved is no longer with the company,” a spokesperson for Checkers told NBC10. β€œThat behavior was completely unacceptable, and does not represent the values of the hundreds of Checkers employees who serve our Philadelphia guests every day.”
