Police Eye 4 Boys in Knifepoint Robbery of Woman Outside Delaware Store

Authorities say four children robbed a woman outside a Delaware dollar store, displaying a knife in the process.

Delaware State Police say in a release the 56-year-old woman was approached by four boys who displayed a knife and attempted to engage in conversation with her in the parking lot outside the Dollar Tree along Miller Road in Wilmington around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. They followed the woman to her car, and entered her vehicle along with her. She immediately exited, leaving her purse behind, which the children took.

As the suspects fled on foot, the woman yelled she would call the police, at which point the purse was dropped. The purse was recovered with all property intact. The victim was not injured.

Police describe two suspects as between the ages of 12 and 16, and one suspect as between the ages of 8 and 11. Photos of the suspects are available on the Delaware State Police website.
