Fire Displaces Family, Destroys West Chester Home

A fire tore through a West Chester home just after midnight Thursday, forcing a family of four to find another place to sleep shortly after they celebrated Thanksgiving.

Crews responded to the blaze on the 1000 block of Carolyn Drive around 12:15 a.m. Friday, officials said.

The smoke and flamed destroyed the house before firefighters were able to get it under control, authorities said.

The American Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania is providing the displaced family with lodging, food, clothing and shoes.

Investigators have yet to release a cause of the fire.
