N.J. board approves projects

Two New Jersey natural gas utilities receive approval from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities for $794 million in infrastructure projects. Newark-based PSE&G said it would hire 900 workers for projects costing $694 million. South Jersey Industries Inc., Folsom, said it would spend $100 million this year and next year on projects originally planned for the next five years. South Jersey Industries did not specify how many additional workers it would hire. Both companies made their proposals in January after Gov. Corzine called for increased capital spending to boost the economy.
