Mushroom production increases slightly

The nation's mushroom production, dominated by Chester County's 62 growers, is about as flat as a portobello. Total mushroom production increased 1 percent this year, according to U.S. Agriculture Department statistics released yesterday. But the crop's value declined slightly, to $957 million.
