Philly Gin Gets in Democratic National Convention ‘Spirit'

A Philadelphia area distillery has been named the official gin provider for the 2016 Philadelphia Host Committee for the Democratic National Convention, or PHLDNC, and it plans on launching an interactive cocktail campaign to get residents and visitors in the spirit.

Philadelphia Distilling, which became the first craft distillery in Pennsylvania since Prohibition when it opened in 2005, is known for its spirits like the Bluecoat American Dry Gin, which was named the official gin for the PHLDNC.

The DNC will take place July 25-28, and about 50,000 people are expected to come to Philadelphia, including delegates and members of the press, providing an opportunity for local companies — including official technology partner, startup Curalate, and official telecom and broadband provider Comcast Business — to get more exposure. "Bluecoat American Dry Gin is proud to be the official gin of the 2016 Host Committee for the Democratic National Convention," said Andrew Auwerda, president co-founder of Philadelphia Distilling.
