American Dream May be a Thing of the Past: Study

We all grew up hearing about the American Dream. Young people are taught that if they work hard, they can have any career they want and earn more money than their parents.

But when push comes to shove, does the American Dream really still exist?

Forty-three percent of Americans born at the bottom of the income ladder remain stuck there as adults, according to a recent report conducted by the Economic Mobility Project of Pew Charitable Trusts.

As for those that do move upward from the bottom, 70 percent still don’t make it beyond the middle. Read more about the "Moving On Up" report at PBJ.com
