This week's Profile is Brian Taylor of Philadelphia. Philly Fashion guru Sabir Peele tells us why Brian is this week's That Guy.
What I like about this look?
This is look is a great representation of how well-tailored clothing can be fun and not stuffy. The pattern of the blazer is an understated Glen plaid, which adds a very cool "Rat-Pack" style to this look. Most guys stay away from shoes and other accessories that do not fall into neutral color, however; Brian really takes a risky, but, effective style-leap with his red leather boots and red-frame lens-less glasses.
Where could this outfit be worn?
I ran into him at the Best of Style event hosted by Philly Style Magazine and learned that he is a director at the acclaimed night-spot Zee Bar here in Philly. His outfit was perfect for the stylish party, as well as, his role as a night club director (which usually allows for more creativity in your dress).
Where can you buy this particular look?
If you are looking for a well-tailored blazer in a similar pattern try Indochino, Enzo Custom Clothier in Philly or Zara. Gaziano & Girling, Grenson and Johnston & Murphy all carry a variety of dress boots in different colors, materials and styles. Add a pop of color to your look with a pair of cool wayfarer style glasses by Ray-ban, ASOS and even FIVEBelow. H&M, Bonobos, J.Crew and Jack Wills are where you want to look if you're in the market for color trousers.
Style Tip?
This is one look that I like completely, however; the trend of the lens-less glasses is the only thing I would change. The red frame does add some color consistency with the red leather boots, but, a red trim pocket square would have had the same affect.
