Contribution limits for 401(k)s may decrease next year

Presently, you can sock away up to $16,500 in your 401(k) on a pre-tax basis or $22,000 if you're age 50 and older. But given what's happened to inflation of late, Uncle Sam could reduce the amount you can sock away by $500, down to $16,000.
