If the Philadelphia area weren't such a craft brew wonderland, an event celebrating local beer might not be enough to keep us in town on Memorial Day weekend, but after hearing about Local 44's Locals Only Weekend, we canceled our trip and will be camping out on a barstool instead.
The popular West Philly bar, which regularly boasts an impressive roster of beers, is upping the ante from May 23 through May 25 with over 30 beers produced in the area. Some are special, some are rare and all are locally produced from breweries like Sly Fox, Philadelphia Brewing Company and Victory.
The Locals Only weekend is also the official kickoff of a new happy hour at Local 44. Starting May 26, the bar will discount select local draft beers Monday through Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.
