Prepare to get down June 18 through June 20 with over two-dozen jazz performers for this free event. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, David Sanborn with Joey De Francesco, Al Jarreau and the George Duke Trio and Preservation Hall Jazz Band are just a few of the musical groups set to perform on the two stages.
This line-up also includes jazz sensation Esperanza Spalding, a name you definitely don’t want to forget. The 25-year old jazz singer and bassist radiates an eclectic, fresh sound that has critics calling her “the new hope for jazz.”
What else is new this year?
For the first time ever, there will be a chance to get up close with performers for smaller scale shows at the Jazz Hang Suite at Relish restaurant on Ogontz Ave.
Make sure to swing by the Congo Square Art Pavilion, featuring a unique blend of artists such as mixed media artist Michelle Angela Ortiz and vibrant painter “Frenchy.”
With good music, good eats, and good vibes echoing throughout the 7100-7400 blocks of Ogontz Ave., you’d be crazy not to dig it.
Tickets can be purchased online through TicketLeap.
