Good News Philly Fans, Donovan Will Be Your Starter Once More

Yesterday, Andy Reid said something after the game to this effect -- "You sometimes have to take a step back to be able to go forward a thousand miles." I have no idea if that is the exact quote because, frankly, it makes zero sense.

Well, that "step back" must have been benching Donovan McNabb and his sexy gloves before taking that "thousand mile" journey to their Thanksgiving game against the Cardinals, because Reid just announced Donovan would be starting this Thursday.

MDS over at PFT has the quote.

Asked if McNabb would be the starter for the rest of the season, Reid said, "Yeah, as I sit here right now he's my quarterback. I'm telling you, he's the starting quarterback. If I thought different then I'd start the other guy."

I've been in turbulent relationships over the years and one thing I have learned is honest communication (I'm lying) is the only way to a successful relationship (I'm still single), so benching Donovan just to start him again in no way could be construed as mixed signals (me = bad at relationship advice).

Reid went on to say that this has nothing to do with Kevin Kolb's performance yesterday, even though the guy went 10-for-23 for 73 yards and two interceptions. I'm not a genius by any means, but I would bet the farm that if Kolb had come out and played a little Joe Flacco-y, we would be seeing the second-year man out of Houston on the field this Thursday.

It is worth noting that, in McNabb's last two games, he has tossed one touchdown and five interceptions. Oh, and he didn't know there were ties in the NFL. Let me change that. One touchdown, five interceptions and one moment where he didn't know the rules of the game he plays even though he is the quarterback. There, that's better.
