Bring Your Cell to “The Nutcracker”

Forget turning your cell off during a show, this holiday season, the Pennsylvania Ballet and, are urging you to turn your cell on during select performances of George Balachine’s “The Nutcracker.”

Turn Your Cell On! is a live polling service initiated by the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance that allows audience members to text their thoughts on the performance directly from their cell phones.

“People can use their cell phones to pick their favorite characters and scenes, then share that information instantly with the rest of the audience,” says President of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance Peggy Amsterdam.

“This campaign is a fun way for audiences to share their enthusiasm for the performance and engage with other patrons.” According to Roy Kaiser, Pennsylvania Ballet Artistic Director.

So, go ahead, use that phone – during intermission and at the end of the show – and let the world know what you thought of the Pennsylvania Ballet’s performance of “The Nutcracker.”

The show runs from Dec. 26 through Dec. 31. at the Academy of Music. Tickets are still available and range from $24 to $129.
