A Bag Designer's Kiddie Craft Obsessions

Bag label founder Monica Botkier is a wealth of fashion, trend, and retail know-how. But as it turns out, she's also got a few more tricks up her sleeve. For one? A preoccupation with kiddie crafts.

What do you crave most?
Chocolate.

Do you know your limits?
Yeah. I...I blow them all the time, but yes, I know them.

What won't you share?
Oh...I don't know, I feel like I'm a pretty open person. I share pretty much everything.

What makes you angry?
Um...When people are really unfair. Or judge-y.

If you were to win a medal tomorrow, what would it be for?
For... I'm going to try to figure out a way to phrase it...basically for trying my hardest to balance motherhood, being a modern woman and a business woman. Because I think that's the hardest thing, and I really think that's something women have to conquer over men — men never have the same exact pressure. Being a family, being a great family guy (my husband certainly is) but the way a woman has to balance career and family...is...just very...it's a lot. And it's amazing, and every woman should have it all, but it's really hard.

What great idea should have been yours?
Oh! I saw something yesterday. Um...Because I have kids and they're constantly dirtying things on the walls, and because I'm always crazy with the Magic Eraser, I saw something about paint that can go on...You paint a wall and it becomes, like, a dry erase board. But it's like, clean. You don't have to struggle. You know how dry erase boards get really bad? I should have thought of that. You can paint them different colors, you can write all over the walls, you can be an artist, and then wipe it all off.

What's been on your to-do list for the longest time?
Photo albums. Organizing my photo albums. Making them into physical albums because I have them on my iPhoto. That's probably the biggest thing that I just never ever get to.

Sin City is The Feast's signature interview series, wherein we get to know the city's characters in a biblical sense, by asking them seven very serious questions.
