Gerard Butler is haunted by his starring role in "300" wherever he goes, as was demonstrated on Thursday's "The Tonight Show."
Host Jimmy Fallon played a clip of Butler at the Daytona 500 race fulfilling his role as Grand Marshal on Feb. 21, where he summoned his inner King Leonidas by yelling "This is Daytona" before reciting the equally famous line, "Drivers, start your engines."
Butler stopped by "The Tonight Show" to promote the upcoming move "London is Falling," where he plays a secret service agent.
"You're a good action star," Fallon said. "This is just a fun movie."
While filming the movie, Butler recalled, a set of four city-blocks of London was built in Bulgaria. The Prime Minister of Bulgaria – Boyko Borissov – visited to watch the filming. And while Borissove enjoyed it, his bodyguards were uncomfortable around an armed Butler, even if the guns were props.
Butler then armed himself with an oversized hand to play a game of black jack, or slapjack, with Fallon. The two proceeded to beat the person with the losing hand for three rounds. At the start of the game, Butler revealed that he had just joined Instagram.
