Jim Rosenfield is an anchor for NBC10 News. You can watch his live reports weekdays during the 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m newscasts.
Jim is passionate about breaking news behind the desk to viewers at home, as well as traveling around the world for work.
One of the most memorable moments during his time at NBC10 was when he travelled to Argentina for a 30-minute special titled, “The People’s Pope,” where he visited the pope’s homeland and spoke with childhood friends, former colleagues, and students from the University of Pennsylvania studying in Buenos Aires about the man known there as Father Jorge Bergoglio. Jim anchored and reported for the NBC10 News special upon his return.
“It was really a highlight for me to get the opportunity to travel to Argentina and be a part of the special that gave viewers an inside look at Pope Francis’s life back in Argentina in preparation for his historic visit to Philadelphia,” said Jim.
Jim also has reported from Israel during the ongoing conflicts between Israel and Palestinians in Gaza and was the only local anchor to report live from Paris, Francis within 24 hours of the terror attacks that took place there in November 2015.
Jim is a four-time Emmy Award winner, including an Emmy win for “Best Anchor” in our region. He has also been honored with the first Mychal Judge Award from the New York Press Club for his coverage of the aftermath of the 9/11 terror attacks and has been recognized by the New York Press for his anchoring of breaking news coverage of Governor Elliot Spitzer’s resignation.
Jim has spent more than 30 years in broadcast journalism. Prior to being an anchor for NBC10, Jim attended Duke University, where he earned a B.A. in English. He got his start as a reporter for WTVD in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. He later went on to anchor and report at both KTRK in Houston Texas, and WLS in Chicago, Illinois.
When Jim is not on the news, he enjoys photography and playing tennis. He is an avid dog lover, and even brings his Golden Retriever, Finn, to work with him.
