NWS Issues Rare Ice Storm Warning for Parts of Area Parts of area can see up to quarter inch of ice

The National Weather Service has issued an Ice Storm Warning for parts of the region until 8:00 a.m. Wednesday.

When rubber meets ice you'll have to be prepared in order to avoid a slippery situation. These tips should help you do just that.

The Ice Storm Warning is in effect for Berks, Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania and Hunterdon and Somerset counties in New Jersey.

NBC Meteorologist Glenn “Hurricane” Schwartz said an ice warning for this area is rare.

The NWS says up to a quarter inch of ice may accumulate in parts of the area.

Travel conditions are expected to be hazardous especially on untreated roads and bridges and sidewalks.

Philadelphia and parts of Southern New Jersey are still under a Winter Weather Advisory until 5:00 a.m. Wednesday.
