Hunt for a $10,000 Ring
Support breast cancer research and potentially win a sparkly diamond

The Robbins Diamond Dash could result in one lucky girl winning the ring of her dreams -- not to mention it's for a very good cause.
The Philly affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the largest nonprofit breast cancer fund in the world and Robbins Diamonds are bringing you the Robbins Diamond Dash on Halloween.
More than 500 couples have already signed up to participate in the "Thrill of the Hunt" -- the scavenger hunt that will take them around the city with clues coming to them via text message -- to find a diamond ring worth $10,000 at the end.
While participants can be part any team of two (yes, technically two best friends would count as a team), it is encouraged that they join the hunt if they are in a team of two that is thinking about marriage and happen to be in the market for an engagement ring.
Last year, the couple who won ended up getting engaged on the spot and it's quite possible that it could happen again this year.
The whole thing is going down at 10 a.m. on Oct. 31 at Thomas Paine Plaza (across from City Hall and Love Park). There is no registration fee, but participants need to bring a $25 donation.
One small detail, when you register, you need to explain why you want to participate in order to be accepted. So saying that it's just to win a diamond ring probably isn't a good idea. We all want to support breast cancer research, too.
The race is over at 2 p.m. The winner will be announced and the ring handed over, then there will be an after party at Dave and Buster's on Columbus Blvd. So even if you don't win the ring, you can still go to the party and celebrate the fact that you participated in a good cause.
