A landmark on the N.J. Shore celebrates her birthday on Saturday.
Lucy the Elephant has stood watch over the beach outside of Atlantic City since 1881 - and will have a daylong party to celebrate turning 130-years-old.
Organizers say the party in the town of Margate will run from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. The festivities will include some carnival attractions - a moon bounce, water slide, dunk tank, as well as Jersey Shore "delicacies" like cotton candy and hot dogs.
Historians say the six-story elephant was put up in the late-19th century to attract property buyers to the area. The larger-than-life pachyderm has a block-wide sized footprint in the neighborhood.
