Local Teen Competes on ‘American Idol'

Local teen Kenny Hoffpauer is one of the lucky “American Idol” contestants to make it to the Hollywood leg of the competition.

The 16-year-old Haverford High School student made it through the New York auditions by successfully singing the Jason Mraz song “I’m Yours” to beat out thousands of other hopefuls that showed up that day.

According to The Delaware County Daily Times, Hoffpauer was set to sing in the second round Wednesday night. The Havertown resident sings lead vocals for a local rock band, Forever Nameless, and competed in the 2007 Delco Idol competition.
