Emmy Award-winner news journalist, Dawn Timmeney joined the NBC 10 News team in October 2001. She anchors NBC 10 News - Live at 4PM.
Before coming to NBC 10, Timmeney anchored the 5, 6 and 11PM news for seven years at WBRE-TV 28 (an NBC affiliate) in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. During her tenure, the 5PM newscast won an Emmy for Best News Broadcast in the Region.
A Pennsylvania native, Timmeney began her television career as an anchor/reporter at WFMZ-TV 69 in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
A graduate of Emerson College, she earned her B.S. degree in Communications/Broadcast Journalism.
Timmeney has been very active with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for children over the years. She also co-founded the Max & Lorraine Foundation, a special organization dedicated to helping children who suffer from asthma. She is on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia/Delaware Valley Chapter of the Crohns & Colitis Foundation of America.
Timmeney loves the beach and the great outdoors. She likes to take long walks in the woods, run, ski, and play tennis. She also enjoys spending her free time at her family’s vacation home in Lake Naomi in the Poconos.
She lives in the Philadelphia area with her husband Mike and daughter Oona.
