Dave Warren joined NBC 10 News as a weekend meteorologist and weather producer in April 2003. Prior to joining NBC 10, Warren was chief meteorologist at KPAX-TV in Missoula, Montana.
Not long after graduating from the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology, Warren landed his first job at KPAX –TV as a news anchor and producer. In April 1999, Warren became KPAX’s noon meteorologist.
Having grown up in a suburb of Philadelphia (Havertown, PA), Warren is no stranger to NBC 10. In the summer of 1997, he was an intern in the station’s weather department.
Warren has been an active member of the American Meteorological Society since 1999. In early 2006, the American Meteorological Society named him a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM), the highest honor a TV meteorologist can attain.
During the 2005-2006 school year, Warren assisted NBC 10 Chief Meteorologist Glenn “Hurricane” Schwartz with H.O.P.E.S., a program that Schwartz created to mentor minority students who are passionate about the field of earth science and meteorology. It was this work that made Warren realize the value of mentorship, and so he returned to his former Eagle Scout troop where he helped the current scouts to receive their weather badge. He also speaks to local schools about the weather.
Warren participates in several athletic activities, including golfing, running and lifting weights. He is also a member of the NBC 10 softball team.
Warren currently resides in Montgomery County.
