What seemed to be a simple fender bender turned into a hit-and-run that left one man badly hurt after his body was dragged along by the other driver's pickup.
"Running someone over and being able to drive away from that, I don't know how you go home and sleep at night," said Kristin Hade, victim's daughter.
Hade has turned to social media to try and find the driver of that pickup.
Upper Merion (Pa.) Township Police confirmed they responded to a hit-and-run along Dekalb Pike (Route 202) in front of the King of Prussia Mall around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. Police said it began after a white or silver, possibly, Chevrolet Silverado tapped him from behind.
"When my dad got out of his vehicle to assess damage and collect the driver's information, the driver fled the scene. In the process he ran over my dad's right side and drug him a short distance," Hade wrote on Facebook.
Tonight, Hade talked with NBC10's Chris Cato and said her father, Stephen Erskine, had just one question from his hospital bed.
" 'Was the guy caught?' And I think that's what really made it sink in. I said 'No Dad, he's not, but we're going to work really hard to do everything to make sure that he is.' " said Hade.
Police say Hade's father was dragged about 200 feet.
"While talking with him, the other driver accelerated out of the area to go around the first vehicle and the victim became entangled in his vehicle and was dragged out into the intersection," said Chief John Nolan, of the Upper Merion Twp. Police.
The woman’s plea on social media a day after the wreck to try and find the driver of the pickup truck gained a lot of attention for the crash that left her father hospitalized in the intensive care unit at Paoli Hospital.
Hade asked friends and friends of friends to share the post and by Friday afternoon more than 15,000 Facebook users shared the post.
"My dad is suffering from 4-5 fractured ribs, a collapsed lung, fractured pelvis, and a hole in his kidney," Hade wrote. "He also has road rash all over his body and has needed 3 blood transfusions."
