Despite the rain it'll be special weekend of baseball for the defending champions. Let’s show our appreciation for our team by welcoming them back with open arms.

Fans will get their first look at the defending champion Phillies Friday night at Citizens Bank Park.

It will be the first time this season that Phillies Public Address Announcer Dan Baker will say, "Welcome your World Champion Philadelphia Phillies."

The Phils open a two-game On-Deck Series against the Tampa Bay Rays at 7 p.m. It's still spring training, but there are plenty of reasons to go to the ballpark and watch our Phightins play this weekend.

Longtime Phillie, Pat Burrell, returns with his new team. The Phillies will pay tribute to Burrell Friday -- all fans will receive a print of the former Phillie and a thank you video will be played pre-game.

Fans can come out to the ballpark early to take advantage of special offerings. Ashburn Alley will open at 4:35 p.m. with concession specials until 5:35p.m.

Fans also get their first chance to watch Ryan Howard put on a show during batting practice slamming home runs all over the place. Kids will pack the aisles in the outfield trying hard to get a baseball that will stay in their memories forever.

Lets not forget about the great food at Citizens Bank Park.

Harry the K’s is a great restaurant to relax before the game and to get a nice view of batting practice. Bull’s BBQ offers delicious sandwiches that will surely satisfy your appetite.

There are always the more traditional offerings -- cheesesteaks, hoagies, hotdogs, pizza, the Schmitter and Chickie and Pete’s crab fries. If you ate dinner before the game, there is ice cream of all kinds sold in the ballpark.

On Saturday, the game starts at 1 p.m. Gates will open at 10:35 a.m. with concession specials until 11:35 a.m.

All fans attending Saturday's game will receive Southwest Airlines Schedule Magnets. All players on the Phillies and Rays who participated in the World Baseball Classic will be recognized before the game.

The preseason ends Saturday. The real season starts Sunday night against the Atlanta Braves.

The spotlight will be on Philadelphia, as ESPN 2 will televise the game. Welcome to Philadelphia the home of the greatest fans in the world.
