Eagles kicker David Akers channeled some lucky-sandwich mojo at the Meadowlands Sunday.

The "lucky" sandwich was from the same steak shop that QB Donovan McNabb swears by before big road games.

McNabb often stops at Talk of the Town (3020 S. Broad St.) to pick up his own special chicken cheesesteak before heading out on an Eagles road trip, as was reported by NBC 10 last week.

It turns out that Akers tried the same thing this past weekend, reported Dan Gross.

There must be a bit of magic in those T.o.T. sandwiches because Akers overcame sub-par career numbers at the Meadowlands to kick perfectly -- draining three field goals to help the Eagles beat the Giants.

Now let's see how many Birds grab a special sandwich before flying out to Arizona.
