Sixers Make Final Cuts, Shoot Towards Opener

Sixers cut center to finalize roster

NBA fans in Philly will see a mix of new and old faces when the Philadelphia 76ers take the court for the 2008-09 season.

The Sixers have made the final roster adjustments to prepare for their opener by cutting center Jared Reiner to set the roster at 14 players.

The big change in the starting lineup is at power forward where big-time-free-agent signing Elton Brand will be putting up double doubles.

Other new faces include veteran sharpshooter Donyell Marshall, shooter Kareem Rush, guard Royal Ivey, rookie Marreese Speights and Theo Ratliff who will taking his second tour of duty with Philly.

The Sixers are returning eight players from their Playoff team last season including starters Andre Miller, Andre Iguodala, Samuel Dalembert and Thaddeus Young.

The Sixers open the season at home on Wednesday night against the Toronto Raptors.
