Some fans are fed up with Lidge's inability to close games this season.

Brad Lidge is still the closer for the defending World Series champions.

Well at least for now, according to Phillies Manager Charlie Manuel.

Manuel reiterated his support for Lidge before Tuesday night's game against Washington.

The team needs to "show confidence" in Lidge, Manuel said.

But who knows how long that confidence can last if Lidge continues to struggle.

Lidge was anything but lights out so far this season, blowing 10 of 38 save opportunities. On Saturday, Lidge allowed two runs, two hits and walked two in a ninth-inning loss at Houston.
