Fan Suffers Cardiac Emergency at 49ers Levi's Stadium, Dies

    A man has died after suffering a cardiac emergency during Sunday's San Francisco 49ers preseason opener against the Denver Broncos at Levi's Stadium, the Santa Clara Fire Department said.

    The report of a cardiac emergency came during the third quarter, Santa Clara Fire said. When stadium medical personnel reached the man in section 221, they treated him, administering CPR.

    He was rushed to O'Connor Hospital, but was pronounced dead by emergency room doctors.

    The 49ers issued a statement:

    “The 49ers organization is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of our fans earlier today. We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family and friends in this time of sadness.”
