Missing Ex-FBI Agent's Children Given Grants

Two of the children of a former FBI agent from Coral Springs who disappeared in Iran five years ago were presented with college grants at a ceremony in Tamarac Thursday. The Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI presented $10,000 to the children of Robert Levinson at the luncheon ceremony at Colony Coast Country Club. David Levinson said Bob Levinson was his mother Christine's "love of her life, and for her to be without him every day, I know that is crushing for her."

The family of an ex-FBI agent, who went missing in Iran in 2007, released five photographs that show him in an orange jumpsuit, with chains draped around his neck and wrists.

Bob Levinson disappeared from the Iranian island of Kish, where his family says he was investigating cigarette smuggling for a private client. He traveled there on March 8, 2007 and hasn't been seen since. His wife has said she believes he never left.

In one of the photos, Levinson holds up a sign that reads " Help Me." And in another a sign reads " I Am Here In Guantanamo Do you Know Where It Is?"  He stands in front of a black background and has a long, white beard.

The New York Times reported that the photos appear to be taken around two years ago, around the same time when his proof-of-life video was sent.

"Right now, I am trying to make people aware that my husband is still being held hostage," his wife Christine Levinson has said. "We still don't know how to get him home."

The case has increasingly frustrated investigators, who have relied unsuccessfully on evolving strategies of diplomacy and the public release of the video in hopes of finding Levinson.

In 2011 the family released the video, which had been received in November 2010 in an email from someone with an unknown address, showing a haggard Levinson pleading for help.

Christine Levinson has said she tried to contact them by email, which was all she had.

The FBI has announced a $1 million reward has been offered for information leading to his safe recovery and return. Anyone with information is urged to contact the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov.
