Workers Using Heat Gun to Thaw Frozen Pipe Accidentally Start Fire at Bucks County Apartment

Residents were displaced from a Bucks County apartment complex after maintenance workers accidentally caused a fire, according to officials.

The workers were trying to thaw a frozen pipe with a heat gun inside the Franklin Commons Apartment complex on 1400 Cardinal Drive in Bensalem around 2 p.m. Monday.

The first floor apartment then caught fire and flames spread to a second floor apartment as well as an attic.

The building was evacuated and responding firefighters were able to quickly put out the flames.

No one was injured in the blaze but residents from 18 apartments were displaced.
