Caught on Cam: Thief Takes an Hour to Break Into ATM

Philadelphia Police asked for the public’s help to track down a robber caught on camera taking an hour to break into a cash machine.

The thief used various tools to eventually gain access to the cash drawer of an ATM located outside a meat store along Wadsworth Avenue in the city’s Cedarbrook neighborhood around 2:30 a.m. on Election Day, said Philadelphia Police.

The suspect – a stocky man in his 40s or 50s with a light beard and mustache who wore glasses, a hat and an Under Armour hoodie -- grabbed an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing, said police.

Police released surveillance video that shows the suspect checking out the ATM and skulking around. Anyone who recognizes that man or has information about the heist is asked to contact Philadelphia Police.
